About Copperline
At Copperline, our mission is to cultivate community – one cup and connection at a time.
We created Copperline as a warm, welcoming space where people can gather, connect, and enjoy the little luxuries of life—whether that’s a great cup of coffee, a thoughtfully curated gift, or a moment of connection.
Everything we do here is rooted in a deep love for our community and is designed to help feed, cultivate, and grow our small rural town.
Why Copperline?
Our name is inspired by the song “Copperline” by James Taylor, which celebrates the small, meaningful moments that make a place feel like home. We love our small town and hope our shop becomes a place where people can share old memories and make new ones that help inspire that sense of community right here in Keosauqua.

Meet The Nichols
We’re Jaimie and Richard Nichols, the owners of Copperline. You’ll see Jaimie around the shop running the day-to-day operations. She’s a Southeast Iowa native with a big heart and a lot of passion. With a background in design, marketing, and business coaching, Jaimie is the creator who brought Copperline to life. You can see her love for cozy spaces, plants, and books when you visit the shop!
Richard is a Colorado native who works across the street at First Iowa State Bank—so you’ll see him around the shop too. He fell in love with Keosauqua and has played a big role in helping it grow during his time here. He brings a wealth of business experience and community knowledge to our team. You can thank him for the amazing Marantz stereo system and record collection.
Copperline is a family business, so in addition to our amazing staff, you’ll also see our two daughters, Joey & Scarlet, helping around the shop.

REBECCA WILLIAMSON
“I got word there was a new coffee shop in town—and you know I had to check it out. I live on mid-shoot caffeine stops and editing-day lattes, and after visiting coffee shops all across the states, this one made the list.”
JADE PETERSEN
“I went to the bank across the street and seen the owner mind you it's 4:30 pm I followed her outside and asked if I could buy a cup of coffe. I work construction (Electrician) so I don't have time to stop during normal business hours. She didn't hesitate to say YES WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE! SHE WAS COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL EVEN 2.5 HOURS PAST CLOSING. GO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL COFFEE SHOPS. Especially this one.”
TIMOTHY RUSSELL
“Five star all the way.”
